UG Bazaar, a subsidiary of Urban Girl, now has a dedicated section for buying restaurant food. The e-commerce company introduced its food section earlier last month. As of now, UG Bazaar features select restaurants from around its headquarters in Baneshwor.
Rather than just having the name of the restaurant and the entire food menu listed on one page — a popular practice among food delivery services — UG Bazaar has a different yet familiar feel. You can click or tap on a particular dish and see the details including a decent-quality picture of the food you’re looking at.
UG Bazaar is primarily a retail e-commerce app which kinda explains why the food section entails the same retail experience. Ordering food from UG Bazaar feels like online shopping (actually it is!). The choices of restaurants are very limited at the moment and the dishes are categorized under “Lockdown Menu,” although it’s the regular food menu from respective eateries. The available restaurants on UG Bazaar are The Wings Factory, and Chef’s Burger, in addition to a cloud kitchen called Mero Lunch that’s located in Lalitpur. You can use the filters for easy navigation through the available dishes.
UG Bazaar co-founder Nikita Acharya says more restaurants will be added to the Bazaar marketplace in the future. UG offers its food delivery service all around Kathmandu valley. You will have to place a minimum order of 500 NPR to avail delivery. This applies to other purchases made on UG Bazaar, too. Even though the choices of restaurants on UG seem low, you can find a decent variety of Nepali and continental food. You can download UG Bazaar for Android, or visit the marketplace on the web.
